What to Expect from Therapy
Therapy is a collaborative process focused on helping you explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a safe, supportive environment. Our work together may include developing coping strategies, processing past experiences, setting goals, and building skills to support your well-being.

While therapy can be highly effective, progress may vary and can sometimes involve discussing difficult emotions or situations.

Client Rights
As a client, you have the right to:
-
Be treated with dignity, respect, and without discrimination
-
Ask questions about your therapy and therapist’s approach
-
Decline or withdraw from therapy at any time
-
Request referrals or second opinions
-
Access your records, as allowed by law

Confidentiality
Information shared in therapy is confidential and protected by law. However, there are a few exceptions where disclosure may be required:
-
If there is reason to believe you are a danger to yourself or others
-
In cases of suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult
-
When required by a valid court order or legal obligation
In any such case, disclosure will be limited to what is necessary and required by law.

Telehealth
If sessions are conducted via telehealth, efforts will be made to ensure your privacy through secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms. You are responsible for securing your own environment during sessions.

Non-urgent messages may be shared via phone or email, but email is not fully secure. Please use discretion and avoid sending sensitive personal information via email.
